Nishio is known for being one of the major production areas of matcha. Tea ceremony is as part of the samurai culture and Matcha has been used for it. We appreciate Matcha as special tea even today . The freshly picked tea leaves of the year are steamed and dried, called “tencha”. Matcha is finely ground powder of Tenchaleavesby a stonemill. There is no process of rubbing tea leaves like sencha, and it is made with the same careful cultivation and manufacturing method as gyokuro. For lunch, we will have a famous “miso katsu” (pork cutlet),and after luch, we will take you to the Historical park and Miso park. Enjoy your holiday in Nishio City!
