Escape the city and discover the culinary heart of the Chita Peninsula, one of Japan’s most celebrated food-producing regions, just south of Nagoya.

Blessed with a mild climate, fertile farmland, and abundant seafood, Chita has long been known as a center of Japanese fermentation culture, producing sake, vinegar, miso, and tamari soy sauce that have shaped Japanese cuisine for centuries.

Your journey begins at Keigama, a renowned Tokoname pottery studio preserving one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns traditions. Learn how artisans create the acclaimed BAN tableware collection, developed in collaboration with professional chefs to showcase food at its finest.

Next, visit Sawada Sake Brewery, founded in 1848, where generations of brewers have crafted premium sake using local rice, pure water, and traditional techniques. Gain a deeper appreciation for Japan’s brewing culture while exploring the historic brewery.

The experience culminates with a special gastronomic lunch at Le Coeuryuzu, one of Chita’s leading restaurants. Award-winning Chef Watanabe presents seasonal local ingredients beautifully arranged on BAN pottery, accompanied by carefully selected pairings including Sawada Sake Brewery’s sake.

This immersive experience reveals how craftsmanship, fermentation, and regional ingredients come together to create one of Japan’s most distinctive culinary cultures.
